At Gatecraft, we use Western Red Cedar as it is a softwood which is versatile, durable, beautiful and easy to use and maintain.
It won’t warp, swell, bend or cup in hot or cold weather like hard woods.
Maintenance is not an issue – with a light sand, gates can be stained or varnished again simply onsite. They’ll look like brand new in a few hours.
Painted gates can be easily touched up to look fabulous for years and years.
Any metal/powdercoated gates need to be collected from your home, transported to the powdercoaters and returned days later. Unfortunately this isn’t efficient or practical, especially from a security point of view!
We offer a servicing and maintenance service, where we come to you – all work is performed at your home.
