What’s the difference between a tilt and sectional garage door?

Tilt garage doors are 1 solid panel door which pushes outwards and slides up and back along the ceiling.
Sectional garage doors consist of 4 or 5 sections to allow the garage door to move up and slide along the ceiling. When the door is in the closed position, they can look very similar. Both types of garage doors can be automated for convenience, security and comfort.

I live near the beach, how long will a garage door and fittings last for?

Our German designed and manufactured 4Ddoors Garage doors have high quality galvanised steel fixtures and fittings. They are designed to withstand the harshest elements. In fact, 4Ddoors discovered that after 14 years, the moisture in the concrete leeches up into the steel frames and begins to corrode the steel. To eliminate this from happening, they have designed “booties” to cover the base of the framing so they last for a very long time.
The 4Ddoors doors will also withstand winds up to Wind rating 3, but can be altered up to Wind rating 5, which is 200 kilometre/hour winds.
The double insulation also means the doors are a lot stronger than ‘single skin’ garage doors, meaning no bending or warping panels. The insulation also ensures no more cold cars in winter or hot cars in summer!! We insulate our houses and garage walls and ceilings, so it makes sense to install insulated doors also. This saves money on heating and cooling too! The insulated doors consist of 1.5mm metal outer with 6cm of polyutherane insulation.

How do I dispose my old gate and garage doors if I replace it with a new one?

For a small extra cost JMH can remove and dispose your old gates and garage doors for you. Alternatively, you can take your gate or garage door to any waste and recycling yard and they will be happy to dispose of them for you. (Please note fees for dumping will be incurred)

Can I use the same remote to operate my gate a garage door if both are different automation unit brands?

Hate carrying around 2 different remotes for your garage door and gates? Wish one remote will operate them all? We have a solution!
An installation of a stand-alone receiver will enable you to operate both gates and doors from one remote.

Is it possible to automate existing gates?

Anything is possible! If your existing gates are in good, operating condition we can automate them.

How long does it take to construct and install a gate or garage door?

This is all determined on the size and design of your gate/s and the type of finish. An estimate guide would be anywhere between 8-10 weeks from date of deposit. (longer lead times apply leading up to Christmas)

Why do I need a design consultant to attend site for an initial quote? Why can’t I get a quote over the phone?

It is difficult to price over the phone or email as there are a lot of factors and varibles that make up the price. These include size, design, cladding type, frame, finish, fixings, etc. We do prefer to have one of our design consultants to attend site to give you an accurate price and to be able to go through design and style details with you. Alternatively you are more than welcome to visit our showroom to meet with our staff to discuss further and view our extensive display and selection centre.
